Alma is a highly experienced trauma clinician, specializing in mood disorders, depression, loneliness, low self-esteem, relationship struggles, family conflicts, life transitions, and more.
Having navigated the complexities of motherhood while relocating to eight different countries across North America, Europe, and South America, Alma brings a unique understanding to her practice. She prioritizes building a strong therapeutic alliance, offering a collaborative and strength-based approach that provides comfort, support, and space for reflection and growth. Tailoring her work to each client’s individual needs, Alma aims to facilitate exploration and understanding of past, present, and future experiences. Committed to evidence-based practices, Alma consistently seeks to ensure that therapy remains relevant and beneficial for her clients.
Alma is a registered member of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and maintains active membership with the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals (OAMHP) and the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). With a Master’s in Science in Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health from King’s College London, Alma is also a trained EMDR clinician (EMDRIA’s training approved), a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), a Child and Adolescent Trauma Professional (CATP), and a Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCTAP). Additionally, she has pursued training in emotion-focused therapy, attachment-based play therapy, mindfulness cognitive behavioural therapy, somatic therapy, and psychodynamic therapy.
